Meghann's passion for immigration law started during law school, when she worked as a student representative in the Asylum and Human Rights Clinic at the University of Connecticut School of Law. She successfully represented two children in their affirmative applications for asylum due to persecution suffered by their family in Pakistan. Since then, she has worked on numbers removal/deportation cases, as well as family-based and employment-based cases and international adoptions. She is experienced in adjustment of status/green card cases and naturalization/citizenship matters.
Meghann is actively involved in various causes in the U.S. and abroad, including a nonprofit dedicated to building houses in Haiti and other countries. She travels annually to Haiti, where she assists in the construction of multiple homes for a community of about 400 people otherwise living in tents or small shacks. Besides building houses, the groups she travels with donate personal hygiene items, clothes and toys to the community.

A Great Experience.
It was a pleasure to have Meghann LaFountain as my lawyer overseeing the naturalization process. She walked me through every step: from filing actual application through helping me to prepare for the interview, to attending the Oath ceremony. Meghann proved to be knowledgeable. She kept me abreast...
