Neal E. Guttenberg

Neal is compassionate about his work, and I don’t doubt his intent to help. However, my experience was frustrating and, ultimately, disappointing — to the point that I regret consulting him. Don’t expect him to follow up with you about your case — it is entirely your responsibility to stay on top ...of everything. I often felt there was a serious lack of organization, and he frequently confused our case with others. This led to repeated miscommunications and made it difficult to feel confident in the process. While he is quick to answer the phone, he is very particular about how often you call. Excessive calls, by his own definition — can result in a $50 charge. That felt unreasonable considering the thousands of dollars we were already paying, especially when his communication was often unclear. His demeanor could be surprisingly curt and dismissive. He could be rude or condescending at times, yet didn’t seem to expect clients to respond similarly. The dynamic felt unbalanced and unprofessional. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Neal without serious reservations, and I regret turning to him for representation.

I would like to express my appreciation and recommendation for Neal Guttenberg who was my Social Security Disability Lawyer. Unlike other Lawyers in the area, Neal is compassionate and actually cares. He calmed me down while I was nervous and pacing back and forth as I was waiting for my turn to see... the Judge. The Judge was known to be tough which made me even more anxious. He helped me by explaining step by step what to expect during the hearing and even role played with me to get me used to the situation beforehand. Neal gathered all the necessary records needed for my case and always answered my calls. He also kept in constant contact with my case manager to ensure information was received on time and was accurate from my treatment facility. When the Judge said he needed more proof of disability, Neal immediately got it to him and won my case!
