Unprofessional / hung up the phone

I was simply trying to figure out what was going on with my boyfriends cases he was telling me to just Google what I need answers for and was telling me to be logical. It’s a very serious case and he’s completely lost in it he also hung up the phone call on me when I simply wanted to be up to date wi...th everything that’s going on with my boyfriends case.

Poor quality representation

Beware of Matt J Costello a difficult attorney who: • Drags out cases by being unresponsive or intentionally antagonistic in his responses. • Adds fuel to the fire to extend cases and force litigation. • Seem to charge huge sums for little work or poor quality work. • Appears in court unprepared ...and he commands little respect from the court. • Abuses substances that diminish his abilities and effectiveness. • Treats everyone poorly including his clients.

Dont use Costello or his partner Abbot

I've never been more disappointed. While I was incarcerated for 100 days I never could get through to him or him to return my phone call. Although I have not finished paying all of his fee he has never spoken two words to me about my case which is considerably large he constantly asks about money whe...n he's going to get paid. he has not earned the money that I payed him I will not pay him due to his lack of consultation and communication which has cost me thousands of dollars.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
