I have had a mental health condition for over 25 years now and because I often refused to take my medication I racked up a pretty extensive criminal history. A rap sheet. It turns out God was with me because the victim did not want to condemn me but just to see me get some help. So when all the dust finally cleared after long continuances do to Covid 19. Atty. Klein did exactly what he said he could do in his consultation and the Robbery charge was dismissed and I was able to plead out to two misdemeanors and ended up with a short probation. At the time I was eligible for a public defender, but after years of dealing with court system I know that had I chose to take that course my outcome would not have been as good. In my experience they are just there to facilitate ease of operations between the judge and the prosecutor and the accused. They don't take the time to really hear you out or fight for your case.
