Angelo Paul Sevarino joined the firm of Morrissey, Morrissey & Mooney LLC as Of Counsel in 2012. He has been active in the Connecticut Bar Association since 1980; served as Secretary of the Connecticut Bar Association (1996-1997); was founder and first chair of the CBA Young Lawyers Section Workers= Compensation Committee(1982-1984); served on the Examining Committee for applicants in the workers= compensation Connecticut certification process; is a member of the CBA Workers= Compensation Section Executive Committee since its inception serving as its founder and first chair (1984-1986); was founder and first editor of Compensation Quarterly, the quarterly review published by the CBA=s Workers= Compensation Section(1990-1992); founded and chaired the Lawyer Specialty Committee (1993-1997) and served as Connecticut=s Liaison to the American Bar Association Workers= Compensation Committee(1994-1997). He is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and a member of its Workers= Compensation Committee; Workers Injury Law & Advocacy Group and National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals.
He was inducted as a Fellow of The College of Workers= Compensation Lawyers (Class of 2011), the recipient of the 2005 Achievement Award presented by the Connecticut Italian American Bar Association and the 2007 recipient of the Edward Pomeranz/Edward O=Brien Memorial Award for Excellence and Achievement presented by the Workers= Compensation Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Connecticut=s Best Lawyers, New England Super Lawyers, Connecticut Super Lawyers and Greater Hartford Top Attorneys
He holds appointments as a Magistrate for the Superior Court, Geographic Districts of Manchester, Rockville and New Britain and as a State Attorney Trial Referee/Arbitrator/Factfinder for the Judicial Districts of Hartford and New Britain.
He authors AConnecticut Workers= Compensation After in its Fifth Edition, ASettlements, Offsets & Set-Asides@ (2004) and APractitioner=s Guide To Settlements, Offsets & Set-Asides@(2009) and APractitioner=s Reference Manual To Settlements, Offsets & Set-Asides (April, 2013) all published by the Atlantic Law Book Company, West Hartford, Connecticut. He authored AConnecticut Workers= Compensation-Basic Practice Manual@ and co-authored AConnecticut Lawyers= Deskbook@ (Workers= Compensation) both published by the Connecticut Bar Association.
He is a frequent lecturer at professional and business conferences and continuing legal education seminars on the subjects of workers= compensation, Social Security and Medicare Set-aside arrangements and is a former adjunct faculty member of Tunxis Community College where he lectured in Business Law.
