Barry K Mills

Barry Mills is a native of Newport, Maine. After graduating from the University of Maine in 1962, he worked a stint as reporter for the Bangor Daily News and one year as English teacher at Clinton High School. He graduated cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 1967. He has practiced his entire career with Hale & Hamlin. 

Barry lives Barry currently served on the Ethics Commission of the Maine Board of Overseers of the Blue Hill. While he still maintains a sizable real estate practice, Barry spends most of his time with civil litigation, including personal injury cases, products liability, and professional malpractice. He has served on the Board of Governors and Executive Committees of both Maine Trial Lawyers and The Maine State Bar Association. He served as President of the Maine State Bar Association in 1987 and is a former director of the Maine Bar Foundation. He is a member of American Judicature Society, a fellow of Roscoe Pound Foundation, fellow of American College of Trial Lawyers, and advocate with American Board of Trial Advocacy. Barry also serves as a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He is a former commissioner of the Maine Civil Legal Services Commission and past president of the John W. Ballou Inns of Court, etc.

Barry has been included in U.S. News & World Report’s listing of Best Lawyers in Personal Injury Practice each year since 2005. The American Registry of Business Excellence lists him among New England’s Top Attorneys in the fields of Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury and General Law. He is listed in Super Lawyers, a peer-reviewed compilation of top-rated American lawyers, in the fields of Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury, General Civil Litigation and Business Litigation.

Barry currently serves on the Ethics Commission of the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar.
