In his "spare" time, Steve is a play by play television sports broadcaster and an umpire. He has called numerous state championship football, soccer, and basketball games. He was the home plate umpire for both the Little League Softball World Series World Championship game in 2016 (Portland, OR) and Junior League Baseball World Series US Championship game in 2019 (Detroit, MI), both games on the ESPN network.
