Review of Patent Attorney Phil Decker

I have been an independent inventor for nearly 50 years. During that time, I have worked with more than a dozen patent attorneys. Of all the patent attorneys I have hired or encountered, none has impressed me more than Phil Decker for his honesty, competence, and commitment to protecting his client’s... interests. I first met Phil in 1996, shortly after he graduated from Franklin Pierce Law Center, a school widely recognized for its intellectual-property law program. Since then, Phil has handled approximately 15 to 20 patent applications for me. What makes Phil particularly valuable is the combination of his legal training and his 12 years of experience as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. That experience gives him a practical understanding of how patent applications are evaluated, where problems may arise, and how claims should be drafted to protect an invention effectively. Phil is straightforward, careful, knowledgeable, and fair. He listens to the inventor, understands the invention, and approaches his work with integrity. In a profession where trust is essential, I have always believed that Phil places my interests first. Finding an attorney with both strong technical ability and unquestionable honesty can be one of the most difficult parts of the patent process. In my experience, Phil Decker possesses both qualities. I recommend him without reservation to inventors and businesses seeking experienced and trustworthy patent counsel. T Bonerb Independent Inventor

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
