    Elder law with an emphasis on long-term care planning. Assisting individuals and couples in applying for Medicaid nursing home benefits, with a focus on preserving homes and assets for themselves and loved ones, and avoiding estate recovery.

    Prepare trusts for special needs planning, probate avoidance, public benefits eligibility, and creditor protection. Special needs planning includes educating and assisting clients with preserving public benefits eligibility.

  3. Estate planning

    Preparation of advance directives (incl. powers of attorney for financial and medical matters), living wills, last wills and testaments, and trusts for individuals and couples, including parents and other relatives of individuals with disabilities.

  4. Guardianship

    Assist parents of children with disabilities to make medical and financial decisions when a child reaches age 18. Help loved ones of incapacitated adults become court-appointed guardians.

    Represent executors and heirs in navigating the probate court rules relative to estate administration. Advise executors and heirs regarding their duties and rights throughout the course of estate administration.

  • The Supreme Court ruled in our favor on both grounds. The Court further held that financial information about the trust could be demanded to determine income eligibility based upon how the trust assets were used.
