Where to begin with this guy… I ultimately decided to terminate this attorney’s representation because I lost confidence that my case was being handled with the level of preparation and advocacy it deserved. From my perspective, I spent countless hours gathering evidence, organizing exhibits, rese...arching New Hampshire family law, and identifying issues that I believed should have been raised. Instead of feeling represented, I often felt like I was managing my own case while paying attorney rates. Communication was frustrating. I frequently had to follow up for updates, ask questions multiple times, and push to keep my case moving. I expected more proactive guidance and strategic planning. I was also disappointed by the apparent lack of preparation for litigation. I had assembled extensive documentation and evidence that I believed supported my position, yet I did not feel those materials were effectively incorporated into the legal strategy. It was discouraging to spend so much time preparing evidence only to feel that it wasn’t being fully utilized. Another concern was the amount I was billed compared to the value I felt I received. Legal representation is expensive, and I expected that my attorney would be leading the preparation and strategy. Instead, I often felt I was paying for work that I had already done myself. I also felt pressured to move toward settlement rather than fully developing and presenting the strongest possible case. While settlement is appropriate in many situations, I hired an attorney to advocate for my interests and be prepared to litigate if necessary. I never felt confident that my case had been fully developed before those discussions took place. Even at that, my requests for discovery and push for required documents from the opposing party went unanswered. Every case is different, and this was simply my experience. However, if you’re considering hiring this attorney, I would strongly recommend asking detailed questions about communication expectations, case preparation, billing practices, and trial strategy before making your decision. After firing him and representing myself, I realized how important it is to have an attorney who is organized, proactive, and willing to put his clients best interests over his anticipated actions from the court or opposing counsel. Instead of working evidence and law, he strongly leaned towards what his personal opinion and relationship with opposing counsel is. Even informing me that he and opposing counsel “talk frequently off the record.” Bottom line is, I wouldn’t trust this guy in the slightest and I spent more time and money arguing with him than I did on him building a case and representing his paying client. I wouldn’t take this guy pro bono if he was the last lawyer available. You’re better off representing yourself. At least you know you’d put your own best interest forward.

Had a serious charge brought against my son and hired Mike Lee to defend him. Mike spent the majority of the time trying to create in-roads with the lead attorney representing the police department. He never once attempted to dissuade or defend and then overcharged us for the few hours of "work" he c...ompleted. The best thing that happened was Mike told us the case was done (it wasn't) and therefore he was done as well. Do not hire this attorney unless you have several thousand dollars to waste so he can make friends.
