Complete and Utter Disappointment

This review is SOLEY for Attorney Maryann Violette and her immediate support staff. I hired Maryann as my representative for an SSI Claim in April 2023. From the beginning Maryann was very personable, though very scatter brained and came across as very unorganized. Typically I do try and find ...the positives when first meeting someone and especially someone that will be helping me. When you hire an Attorney, you remember much more of the interactions than the Attorney themselves, simply due to you only have one Attorney and they potentially have hundreds. Throughout our conversations while applying for the SSI claim Maryann was very optimistic and stated many times that I had a very strong case. She knew and I reminded her (sent files) that I am a 100% Combat Veteran, so my case should be fast tracked, according to the SSA Website. This was made very clear to her. After several months of no movement, I contacted her to ensure that she did in fact set up my claim to be fast tracked. This is where the true colors starting to show. She seemed very confused, partially blaming her staff and unsure if she got a confirmation. Maryann routinely would state on both scheduled and unscheduled calls that she "didn't have my file in front of her", "couldn't see the screens she needed", "my assistant should have done that". This was beyond concerning and frustrating, again as her being my only Lawyer I remembered very specific things about our talks. Emails to her went unanswered for many days, sometimes NEVER responded to at all. She seemed not to understand her inbox and sent box, constantly blaming her computer. After approximately 11 months I received a notification that my claim was denied and shortly thereafter my written decision was sent. I was able to see, for the first time how she completed my claim forms. The forms were littered with inaccuracies and misspellings/fragmented sentences. When we spoke on the phone that day, she began saying "well they always deny the initial claim". I called her out on this was a total 180 on her initial statements and statements over the past 11 months. She then said to file your appeal I want your Doc to fill out a form. She had no contact information. I provided a detailed email with his LinkedIn page, phone number and direct email address. I received no response for 2 days, so I followed up on the phone to confirm she got it. She again was confused and said "you never sent it to me". I had already become very disappointed with my representation and the outlook if I continued with her. After sometime on the phone with me, she found the email and said SHE would have the form sent to him and we set a conference call for this past Tuesday at 1:30am. That gave her well over 2 weeks to get it sent. When that call came, immediately realized she was unprepared with this call and began deflecting when I asked if she had the form from my Doc. She said I don't have it here, I can't see your file (we had a schedule call!!) and I have more screens at home than in my Office. I was angry at this point and asked if she even sent the forms, she deflected and put it on her assistant. Again, over 2 weeks of time to get this done and this is where we are. She then got very flustered and put me on hold, 15 minutes later hung up. During that hold time I contacted my Doc on the VA Messaging app. He confirmed that NOTHING was sent via email or US Mail. I decided she was done as my representative. I called back and was told she would call me back. I stated that this was a one way call, she needed to be told that she is fired. Magically I was connected. Maryann began arguing before I could speak and I told her that I needed to say one thing to her, that this would be a one way call. She said "Bye!" and hung up on me. A written and formal complaint was sent to the Rhode Island Supreme Court Discipline Board. I highly cautious anyone using her services.

Don't waste your time!

Met with Mary Anna violette beginning of week 1 said she would get back to me by the end of the week, never did left her a message never got back to me. Week 2 left her another message, again nothing back, talk to the secretary she derected me to someone let's, I had to explain all over again. Week 3... person that recommended me got in touch with her daughter. Finally she called me back, SHE DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHO I WAS OR REMEBERED WE ALREADY MET? Explained again who I was, she blamed it on the secretary? (I don't think the secretary would go into her personal voice messages and delete only my messages, lye much?) she said she would look to see if anyone was working on the case. Never got back to me! Week 4 left her a final message stating that if she didn't get back to me by this final week that I would no longer need her services. Guess what! She never got back to me. I called the insurence company that was taking care of me and asked if they had heard from my lawyer? They said no, and informed me that it wouldn't of taken that long to get intouch with them. Worst experience in my life! Waste so much of my time and promised me to get me more money! I would never recommend her to anyone! If I could rate her at 0 stars I would give her a -1!
