Consulted regarding bankruptcy in mid 2013 without research and based on my familiarity of knowing who he was. Started out with good communication but experienced early in the process that I had to keep making time to contact he or his office to ask questions as situations developed. Reduced respon...siveness and limited contact and verbal communication was an increasing characteristic of this attorney as the process progressed. Setting expectations and providing information on my bankruptcy filing was not clearly or fully communicated, especially from my point of view as someone with no experience in this area. A sense of justice compels me to pursue things more formally than just this post for there were a series of structural issues with my case. First , a Chap 7 was filed with some expressed skepticism by me concerning its viability as Atty Levesque provided information as to how it would work. He repeatedly assured me that he can do what we were trying to do. The result from the first "meeting of creditors" with the court on this Chap 7 was that our strategy was disallowed. I switched to a Chap 13 filing and a few days later Attorney Levesque contacted me for a consult because he had learned of a change in the law that adversely effected certain aspects of my Chap 13 plan strategy. Proceeded with this Chap 13 under a new expectation, as options appeared limited at that time; however, the plan was sent back for modification due to an unacceptable payment plan. Submitted another Chapter 13 payment plan and again it was rejected. Got family involved with possible cash injection to make a repayment plan feasible. Attorney Levesque designed what appeared to be a viable plan with this cash infusion. As part of this fourth plan submission I received a written communication from the court indicating a time deadline with my case filing. Attorney Levesque was informed of this deadline also but was very unresponsive to my numerous contacts to stay on schedule. In the end, after my continued persistence he gave me some time close to the deadline, the deadline came, he filed for a waiver to extend my case, the court denied the waiver request, and my filing was dismissed. Reaction by me was to pay another fee to a different attorney who fully explained all my options and what I needed to know. Result was a satisfactory and different design to file Chap 7 which was processed without incident and discharged in early 2014. Attorney Levesque did not explore or explain the aspects of the law that my second attorney did resulting in my desired outcome.
