Richard has had over 45 years of experience in the practice of law representing lenders, borrowers, debtors and creditors in financial matters. The focus of his practice is in receivership and insolvency law, as well as representing clients that buy and sell businesses. He is familiar with all facets of these areas as he has represented unsecured creditors, secured creditors and has served as trustee and counsel to creditors' committees in Chapter 11 cases. Richard is one of the state court appointed Receivers in the State of Rhode Island and his receivership experience has included the liquidation of a major community hospital, and the sale and/or liquidation of corporations of various specialties, including retailing, manufacturing and distribution.
Prior to founding the Firm with Colby Cameron in January of 1986, Richard was a Partner in the Providence law firm of Zietz, Mittleman & Webster.
Richard is a 1962 graduate of Colby College and received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1965.
He is very active in a number of charitable organizations.
