Nicklyn Gaines Dolphin

Driven by a desire to help people, Marasco & Nesselbush attorney Nicklyn Dolphin took her first job after graduating from Franklin & Marshall College as a grassroots organizer, focusing the majority of her time on working with youth. Her position also involved working with an indigent population, an experience that made her cognizant of the difficulties facing individuals with limited means and how this can adversely impact all aspects of an individual’s life.

After working as a political organizer, Nicklyn was the executive assistant for the chief of medicine and chief of nursing at Harvard University. This gave her a keen appreciation for the complications of healthcare and a crash course in medical jargon.

Harvard’s chief of medicine served as a strong mentor for Nicklyn as she sought to determine how she could make the biggest impact in helping those less fortunate. “My mentor told me that I had strong emotional intelligence and encouraged me to nurture this skill. While touched by her observation, I viewed consistently checking on the needs of others, whether they clearly communicated those needs or not, as a daily responsibility,” says Nicklyn.

Nicklyn’s empathy for those less fortunate made law school the perfect path forward. After graduating from New England Law School, where she excelled and finished in the top ten percent of her class, Nicklyn’s desire to help those most in need steered her towards Social Security Disability law. It is a field she has excelled in from the very start.

“As Social Security disability lawyers, we are in the business of helping individuals at their lowest points. On the rare occasion people are getting back on their feet again, I tell clients, I can’t make your medical conditions any better, but I can try to take one stressor off your shoulders. Without concerns for the lack of income, a person can focus on their health,” says Nicklyn.

As one of the newest members of the Marasco & Nesselbush SSDI legal team, Nicklyn’s experience over the past seven years has made her transition to one of New England’s largest SSDI law firms seamless.

“Marasco & Nesselbush is a big firm with a large number of clients but it has the feel of a small firm with personal connections to its clients. Finding this balance is not easy and I appreciate the efforts the firm makes on a daily basis to ensure that clients always come first,” says Nicklyn.

In her spare time, Nicklyn enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters as well as cooking, hiking and rooting for the Red Sox and the Boston Bruins.
