About Mark
Biography
Mark B. Heffner, Esq. founded the elder law firm of Heffner & Associates in 1992 to serve the needs of older Rhode Islanders and their families. The firm’s practice focuses on Medicaid planning and qualification, estate planning and probate proceedings involving both guardianships and decedent estates.
Mark is one of approximately 400 attorneys in the United States designated as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. As an Adjunct Professor at Roger Williams University Law School, Mark teaches an introductory Elder Law course and an advanced planning course to second and third year law students.
Mark served for ten years as a member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, and since 2009 has been a member of the Rhode Island State Ethics Commission. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Boston College Law School.
