I would suggest you go to see an attorney with all the facts in front of him to see if something can be amicably negotiated with the landlord....

MY LANDLORD HAS A HABIT OF NOT SIGNING HIS OWN LEASES SO IF HE DOES'N LIKE HIS TENANT HE CAN TELL THEM TO LEAVE. IS THIS LEGAL?

The lease as you describe it is binding by statute. Ignore your landlord unless he files a court case and then hire an attorney.

You are best advised to clear it with the mother. As your daughter gets older you obviously should get a separate bedroom if at all possible.

When does your written lease terminate? Your landlord apparently has not filed, he has just given you a notice. The landlord cannot file in court...
