Evan, the founder of the Law Office of Evan J. Collyer, graduated from the University of Massachusetts School of Law in January 2015. Evan passed the February 2015 Massachusetts Bar Exam and was admitted tot he Massachusetts Bar in June 2015.
Throughout law school, Evan focused his studies on Intellectual Property Law (IP Law) and Entertainment Law. He took survey courses in both topic areas and wrote multiple papers on the subjects. Evan is the founder of the legal blog What The IP Law?! (www.whattheiplaw.com) providing news and opinions on Copyright and Trademark Law.
His interest in IP Law and Entertainment Law arose from his heavy involvement in Student Activities at Bryant University where he received his Bachelors in Business Administration. At Bryant University, Evan studied Marketing and English and Cultural Studies which aided him in his work as a member and chair of the Student Programming Board, Summer Conference Coordinator, and Event Planning Intern with the Arts & Business Council of Rhode Island.
Evan’s passion for the arts and his work with those who create it has given him first hand experience of their wants, needs and desire to protect their creations. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the New Bedford Art Museum/Artworks!.
Beyond Evan’s passion and experience with IP Law and Entertainment Law, Evan has experience working as an Associate at a small private general practice as well working as an Intern with in-house general and corporate counsel at a large global media company.
