If you have a receipt notice, you can print out the case status from the USCIS website. If not, use FOIA.

You file for an extension of the L1 at that time. If gc is filed, you can stay after filing the adjustment application.

There is no expedited process. Green card processing takes time. EB2 for India takes several years. No you dont have to go back to your home...

If you honestly tell the Embassy that you would like to come in to resolve the issue, more chances of you getting the visa.
