Satisfied client

When a friends husband died suddenly she called Bridgette for guidance and advice. While she never needed to hire her for specific work she was so stricken by Bridgettes patience and empathy that she recommended Bridgette to advise me in my elderly estate planning. She did a great job of explaining m...y options without trying to “over sell” services to me. She updated my will and power of attorney in a way that I could understand and did everything in a prompt and professional manner. I will certainly recommend her to my family and friends.

I had lost my mother's original POA.

My mother had hired Brigitte von Weiss to do her POA almost ten years ago. Since that time, my mother was diagnosed with moderate dementia and was admitted to a facility. As her POA, and one who was living out of state in Indiana, I had to sell her home. In order to do this, I needed the original ...POA. I had misplaced it and could not find it. I was literally flying home to close on the house that week when I contacted Ms. von Weiss to meet with mother to complete another POA. I had been in touch with my mother's nurse, who helped explain that I had lost the original POA. Ms. von Weiss immediately went to the facility to meet with my mother to complete a new POA for me. I arrived in Boston the day before the closing on the house, went to the facility, and picked up the original POA. Thankfully, my mother signed two copies for me. Ms. von Weiss saved the day. Had she not been able to accomplish this urgent and difficult task, I would not have been able to close on the sale of the house. She was speedy, efficient, highly skilled and responsive. I really liked her when we did the original POA years ago, and I was so happy when she made herself available on such short notice to help us again. She's an excellent lawyer.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
