Ruben Rodrigues

Ruben Rodrigues is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the firm's IP Litigation and Electronics Practices and Emerging Technologies Industry Team.

During law school, Mr. Rodrigues was a summer associate with Foley (2008), where he assisted attorneys in the Intellectual Property Department. He also worked as a legal intern with the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Massachusetts Governor's Office of Legal Counsel.

Mr. Rodrigues earned his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School (J.D., with honors, 2009). He was awarded the Olin Fellowship in Law & Economics, and was the winner of the ABA Section on Science & Technology Law's Student Writing Competition. Mr. Rodrigues holds a master's degree from Northeastern University (M.P.A., 2006), where he received a National Science Foundation Fellowship and was admitted to Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. He earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science, with a minor in mechanical engineering, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (S.B., 2004).

Mr. Rodrigues is author of "Privacy on Social Networks: Norms, The Market, and Natural Monopoly," a chapter published in The Offensive Internet (Chapter 13, Harvard University Press, November 2010).

Mr. Rodrigues is admitted to practice in Illinois and Massachusetts and before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is proficient in Portuguese and conversant in Spanish.
