Biography
Chris Lavery is an immigration attorney from Belfast, Northern Ireland with strong ties to the Irish community in Boston, providing legal advice to immigrants at regular legal clinics throughout New England. After working in Immigration law firms in Boston, Chris opened his firm in 2010.
Chris is a graduate with Honors from Portobello College, Dublin, Ireland (LLB) and from Boston College Law School (JD). He also holds a Doctorate of Laws (LLD) (honoris causa) from St. Anselm's College, New Hampshire.
Chris has spoken on Immigration issues before the Coalition of Irish Immigration Centers and the American Immigration Lawyers' Association; he has also contributed articles on immigration practice to the publications of those organizations. Chris has been awarded in recognition of his non-profit is a past chair of the Irish Pastoral Centre of Quincy, Massachusetts, and is the recipient of the Charitable Irish Society's Silver Key Award; the Irish Immigration Center's Appreciation Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service; the PAIR Project's Detention Attorney Award; and was recognized in 2011 in the Irish Echo's "40 under 40."
