It is possible that this review was by a recent client who refused to take advice or direction and became impossible to represent forcing myself and my firm to withdraw from representation. After 22 years in practice, I can count on one hand the number of clients that have left unsatisfied with my representation. I have never had a client complain about our billing. My firm has not spent money on marketing or advertising. Accordingly, our clientele is obtained solely from repeat clients and word-of-mouth referrals. I credit our client retention on attention to detail, true passion for the practice of law, a genuine care and concern for each our clients, focusing on solutions, and billing fairly and reasonably to in an effort to maintain transparency and confidence in the lawyer-client relationship. Because I am so committed to doing what is right for our clients based on their individual needs and circumstances, there have been times that I have delivered news that they don't like. In those situations, I encourage the client to get a second opinion. Except for two times in more than two decades, every client who has gotten a second opinion has come back with renewed confidence in my representation and my firm. My office will not string anyone along, which is why, occasionally, after we consult with prospective clients we explain that their resources would be better allocated an in alternative way (i.e. family counselling, an accountant, education, etc.) and choose not to take their money or their case. The nature of our job to represent people in crisis to help secure a long-term stability. I, and my associates, are committed to sensible solutions for all family issues.
