Attorney Graves is a Falmouth, Maine native who moved to Boston to attend Boston University. After graduation, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Suffolk Law School.

When Attorney Graves is not caring for clients, he can be found enjoying time with the love of his life, Marcia. They traveled to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua volunteering their services to VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity). Marcia and Robert enjoy bicycling on Martha's Vineyard and the rail trail with their dog, Dylan, a Bichon-Shih Tzu, who enthusiastically rides along in a toddler trailer. They also enjoy sailing, and on one occasion, sailed to the remote island of Cuttyhunk, enjoying the fishermen's fresh catch of the day.
