Bo Han

Ms. Han's practice focuses on helping clients obtain and protect their intellectual property in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and life sciences. Specifically, her technology areas include immunology, molecular biology and genetics, endocrinology, neurology, and reproductive medicine.

Her practice includes managing and developing domestic and foreign patent portfolios, conducting competitive landscape and freedom-to-operate analyses and conducting IP due diligence. She represents clients in strategic post-grant proceedings before the USPTO, including inter partes review, inter partes reexamination and ex parte reexamination. She has been actively involved in litigations of patent and trade secret rights, including several Hatch-Waxman patent litigations.

Her recent practice highlights include:

• prosecuting patents and developing patent strategy involving pharmaceutical formulations and treatment methods for a pharmaceutical company; and
• conducted IP due diligence on Intrexon's synthetic biology patent portfolio in connection with Ziopharm Oncology's global exclusive channel partnership in oncology with Intrexon.
• represented an innovator pharmaceutical company in ANDA patent infringement litigation involving method of treatment patents;
• obtained a favorable settlement for a biopharmaceutical company in a trade secret misappropriation litigation involving lipid nanoparticle technology for gene silencing therapies.
