John Thomas Hugo

John T. Hugo is the managing partner for MG&M’s California offices. He is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience in trial practice, litigation management, and law firm management.   John has represented a wide variety of clients over a broad span of practice areas including product liability, asbestos, toxic torts, employment related litigation, professional malpractice and business and commercial is currently assistant national coordinating counsel for two companies. In this role, his responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the implementation of corporate witness strategy; development of key defense themes; and retention and training of critical experts. John is also a member of several manufacturers’ asbestos defense trial teams.   Additionally, John has extensive experience litigating food borne Illness claims for clients throughout the United States. John is a National Counsel for one of the largest food service providers in the world. He is responsible for coordinating and managing this client’s significant product and food liability claims while serving as its primary trial counsel.   John's broad assortment of clients includes food service companies, equipment manufacturers, real estate developers, and other professional corporations. His diverse client base, coupled with extensive courtroom and negotiation experience has provided John with a powerful understanding of his clients’ needs and goals in the face of complex, high-stakes litigation.
