Gregory Vanden-Eykel

Greg Vanden-Eykel is a Founding Partner of Cole Law Partners, P.C. and is an experienced and trusted employment, commercial, and construction litigator and risk manager.  He also maintains an education law practice handling special education, student discipline, employment, and governance matters.  Greg has tried Greg has has successfully represented Massachusetts and Rhode Island businesses, charter schools, and individuals before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Massachusetts Committee Against Discrimination, the Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights, the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, and the Rhode Island Department of Education. 

Representative Accomplishments

• Obtained defense verdict on behalf of Massachusetts hospital after a 7-day jury trial concerning a former employee's claims of disability discrimination and retaliation
• Obtained a defense verdict on behalf of a Massachusetts retailer after a small claims trial concerning a customer's allegations of assault and battery and vicarious liability on the part of the employer
• Achieved multiple lack of probable cause findings on behalf of employers before the Massachsuetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights, and the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
• Regularly collaborates with clients concerning the full life cycle of employment related matters including employee handbook and policy development, crafting job descriptions and offer letters, handling leave and accommodation requestions, drafting restrictive covenants and severance agreements, and providing counsel regarding termination and wage and hour determinations
• Represent employees in wage and hour, severance negotiation, and restrictive covenant matters
