We hired Ed for a workplace discrimination case. It has been almost two years, and after being initially very enthusiastic, he now seems to have lost interest in the case. He has assured us multiple time he will "file by the end of the month." When that month comes and goes, he says, "Oh, I'm just... waiting for X." (Insert the conclusion of another case, something with the press, etc..) Now, we don't hear from him. When we reach out, he gives some excuse and says he'll "get back" to us "soon." Then, the whole cycle starts over. He has a retainer (which was a lot for us) and a filing fee for a case he has not filed. The initial discrimination was traumatic enough, and being treated this way by our supposed ally has only made it worse.
