Timothy James van der Veen

        After law school, I cut my teeth as a litigator with 2 Boston firms, first focusing on complex commercial disputes and then insurance defense work. In 2003, I left the litigation world and formed my own firm dedicated exclusively to real estate, which has become a life passion. Today, Vanderveen Law is a highly-regarded real estate firm representing buyers, sellers, banks, investors, and developers in residential and commercial transactions. Vanderveen Law has handled thousands of real estate transactions throughout Massachusetts ranging from 1-bedroom condo sales to commercial acquisitions in the tens of millions.

        Complimenting my law practice, I'm also a licensed real estate instructor and owner of the Real Estate Academy which offers continuiing education classes for real estate agents. In the past 15 years, I've taught hundreds of real estate classes and workshops throughout eastern Massachusetts on dozens of wide-ranging topics from contract law to environmental issues. 

        I serve on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Real Estate Bar Association, and also for the Massachusetts Coastal Coalition, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which focuses on advocating for and educating the public on flood issues.

        My favorite ways to unplug include doing just about anything outdoors, especially hiking, biking, boating, yard projects of all sizes and hanging with our yellow lab Skipper and black lab Puck.
