Hire this guy.

A workhorse attorney. Will not waste your time or money. Gets results and my case was arguably the toughest in Family Court. His dad was a great attorney and the Avratins have a great reputation in the Mass. court system. A thoughtful and honorable guy, will ALWAYS get back to you. The Guardian ad ...Litem in my case described him as a "bulldog in the courtroom", yet not overbearing and respectful of the court. Knows the system and works that advantage - can tell you how certain judges think and what to expect. His work ethic is second to none, and he is a really good guy. So if you need results and your liberty and honor are at stake, then hire Adam. I am now a lawyer (Adam represented me while I was in law school) and can attest to the attributes of what makes a good lawyer. Hire Adam, you will not be disappointed.

Never Use This Attorney

I mistakenly hired this Attorney for my divorce case. My Father passed away and I need money for Funeral. I called and emailed Adam. It took him a week to just a respond. Then he started telling me. I need judge to have Adam withdraw from case. I went to court to have Adam withdraw from the case. ...It took him another 2 weeks just to send in paperwork. I keep asking for my retainer back for a month. No luck. Over a month and he has not withdraw from a case. Very Frustrating.

It is unfortunate that this person elected to post this review, however it is inaccurate and an attempt to cause me to circumvent the Court rules. The person retained me to represent her in her divorce signing a written fee agreement and provided me a retainer. I immediately got to work and approximately one week later while I was preparing to leave for vacation and she demanded her retainer back as she needed the money. I immediately responded telling her that in order for me to return the remaining retainer the Court would have to allow my withdrawal from the case, which I would not be able to submit a motion until I had returned from vacation. Notwithstanding my communication she repeatedly texted me on my personal telephone as well as emailed me while away on vacation. Notwithstanding, I immediately responded and assured her that as soon I returned from vacation I would petition the Court to release me from the case. She then threatened to report me to the BBO and to go down to the Court to get me released. I told her that if she could get the Court to release me during my vacation I would immediately return her remaining retainer upon my return from vacation. On account of her threat I contacted the Board of Bar Overseers to confirm that I was fulfilling my professional responsibilities. Upon my return from vacation I immediately prepared a Motion to Withdraw and await the Court’s actions in order to oblige. I have repeatedly contacted the court for purposes of trying to expedite my withdrawal so that I can oblige. My client relationships are extremely important to me and work tirelessly to get my job done

Unprofessional and very disrespectful

I hired Adam avratin after he was recommended by a couple people. First time I called answered right away and met within 24 hours. We met at his office where he seemed very positive on how he was going to move quickly on my divorce. He then took a $6,000.00 retainer and then said oh and this consult...ation is not free, it will come out of the retainer. That was it for the work on my case he the went on vacation came back and was always in trial, very limited availability to met. In September claims to have written a motion for temporary orders but never submitted to courts but charged me for it, then in November went to court and submitted another motion that was the same as first but charged again. Never once did he try and get information from other attorney relating to discovery. On 1/15 told me to my face that he would file motion to compel by that Monday which would be 1/20. On 1/24 he sent me an email stating that we were going to court on the motion on March 3, 2014. I never received anything from him or courts. When ask I asked him about it he said I was out of control and he wouldn't stand for behavior. He didn't think I should be upset because he didn't do what he said he would. On 2/11/14 I found out he lied and never turned in anything all of it was a lie. In 7 months he cost me over 10,000 and nothing was done and he says he has done his best on the case. I fired him, because of the lying and that lack of communication from him, did everything to get me in the door but once he was my lawyer he had no respect for me and didn't return emails or phone calls. STAY CLEAR of this theif.

Didn't meet expectations. Only cares about money. Drew out my divorce way too long, and didn't even get me what I wanted!

I hired Adam two years ago for help with my divorce trial. I had heard really good things about him, but I was very disappointed when he told me that the agreement I had arrived upon with my husband through our mediator was ridiculous, and insisted that we go back to court. I was hoping to simply r...esolve the case, but Adam seemed interested in squeezing as much money out of my husband (and me) as he could. In the end, Adam didn't get me what I wanted, and cost me thousands of dollars. I do not recommend him!

"Adam is the go to guy for all things related to domestic relations. I have worked with him personally and do not know of a more tireless and more fierce proponent for his clients. He knows when to push and when to back off. He knows his way around the courtroom and what each judge wants and expects, which gives him an upper edge on those he is facing. At the same time, he is incredibly compassionate and makes his clients feel comfortable at a time of often great stress. His rates are also very reasonable and he does not nickel and dime for every little thing (something rare in legal circles). I can't recommend him highly enough. He gives a free consultation for those interested in meeting him. Just an all around great guy and great attorney."
