James N. Decoulos

I was referred to James by my real estate attorney for a construction litigation matter, and I had hoped that perhaps the one-star reviews I saw here and on Avvo were anomalies. Unfortunately, they are a direct reflection of how James conducts business. He is rude, sloppy, and unprofessional. He rush...ed me off the phone the first time I spoke to him, sent me several emails and a contract that were laden with typos/errors, and then took an entire week to even confirm with me when I'd see a draft of the deliverable I retained him for. It was bad enough it took one entire week to establish a course of action, and it's worse that almost another week went by after I formally retained his services and I still had no timeline for when I'd see the deliverable, or when it could be served. While I'm angry about the lost time, I'm thankful that I don't have someone who behaves like James representing me. Do yourself a favor and find another attorney who is capable of establishing a better rapport with their clients.

Atty. James Decoulos has been involved with my family for a long time; in fact my grandparents started out with his Atty. father many years ago; might as well keep it in the family! I contacted Atty. Decoulos to check on a patient at a rehab home. (Jim is familiar with this patient), as I have been i...n contact with patient and he is not happy there. Jim went to visit him, and said he know alot of things past and present, and looked very well for his age! (I had contacted Jim to check things out for me, as I live in Florida and haven't been able to get up north). My idea was/is to get patient to Florida and take care of him, and we also share a common interest in some out of state land Jim said he would look into for us. The patient and I hired Atty. Decoulos back in the 1990's to do with a shared business and common law arrangement that had to be dealt with, so it only made sense now to get in touch with Atty. Decoulos, and he explained things to me in regards with all above dealings at present, and the cost was fair for the legal work it would entail. Thanks, Jim! ( I was not charged for the rehab visit this past month, only for work he did back in the 1990's)
