Detrimental Advice

I had an extremely disappointing and, frankly, alarming experience with this firm. Jean Porcello, the owner of the firm, advised me during a custody matter to disregard a temporary court order requiring me to allow my 6-month-old child to spend time with his father. She told me, “What is the worst... that can happen? You won’t end up at Framingham Prison.” The very next day, I contacted the firm to confirm that this was actually the appropriate course of action. After consulting with her team, Jean retracted her advice and told me NOT to do what she had advised me to do the day before. The original advice given could have resulted in contempt, jail, and serious consequences for my custody case. I requested a refund for the two hours I was charged for seeking this careless council and never received a response. When you are trusting a law firm with something as serious as your child and your future, this level of poor judgment and accountability is unacceptable. In family law - sound, reliable advice is paramount - that’s what the client is paying for.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
