Experience
For nearly two decades (1987-2014) I practiced at the esteemed Boston law firm of Esdaile, Barrett, Jacobs & Mone, representing clients who suffered injury due to the negligence of others. My successful track record includes results for clients from $5, to $5.5 million in state and federal courts throughout the Commonwealth.
Significant cases have included:
- $5.5 million settlement for a bank executive struck by an MBTA bus.
- $2 million settlement for a young woman whose doctor negligently failed to monitor kidney function while she was on prescription medication.
- Undisclosed seven-figure settlement for public servants injured during a rehearsal landing of the Presidential Marine One Chinook-47D helicopters on a football and baseball field
- The Hartford Insurance Group v Derome, et. al., Appeals Court docket 1992-P-0304. Appeals Court reversed Superior Court decision, ordering The Hartford Insurance Group to pay additional $100, to family of injured state trooper.
As General Counsel for the Board of Registration in Medicine (2014-2016) I advised the Board on a wide range of matters pertaining to patient safety, including the licensure and discipline of Massachusetts physicians and regulations pertaining to physician practice in Massachusetts.
Affiliations and Awards
I am active in the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, an organization dedicated to promoting public safety and welfare, and the protection of individual liberties. I served on the organization’s Board of Governors (2009- 2014) and was Chair of the Education Committee (2010-2014). I was the recipient of the President’s Award in Education (2013.) My Academy-related presentations addressed distracted driving and ethics and civility in the practice of law.
I am a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association, where I proudly serve as a certified pro bono conciliator for the Superior Court. I am rated as AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell (1988- present) for ethics and legal ability and was named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer (2012-2013) through a process of peer nomination and independent research, which measure peer recognition and professional achievement.
My track record includes obtaining compensation for clients ranging from $5,000 to $5.5 million in state and federal courts throughout the Commonwealth, including cases in the following areas of law:

My experience includes representing victims of injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, displaced and non-displaced fractures, scarring, amputation, neck or back injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder, loss of eyesight, exacerbation of pre-existing conditions and delay in diagnosis of cancer and other illnesses. Experience also includes representing the families of victims killed by the wrongful conduct of others.
