I hired an attorney who gave me very bad advice and changed the direction of my case. I fired him and hired Grace after reading her reviews and talking to the people in the Court. She was the right attorney for me to go through this horrible experience with. My case took 3 years to settle and dur...ing that time Grace was always available to me especially when I was in a crisis. She would always listen and would give me thoughtful advice. She doesn't sugar coat anything, and some of what she said was hard to hear, but it was good advice and the right advice at the time. Grace is so personable and sweet that you might think she isn't effective but she stands firm and knows her stuff in the courtroom. I met Grace by chance as she was volunteering her time at the local court house's probate and family court department the day I walked in. She gave me the confidence and courage I needed to pursue my parental rights in court. Always having good advice and an excellent sense of the law, I quickly saw ...her as a mentor and felt very comfortable with her in my corner. We received a desirable outcome driven entirely by Grace's expertise and experience. My case settled without going to trial. I always felt like she was working hard and invested in my case. My fiance and I came to Grace after 3 years of struggling to get visitation with his now 14 year old daughter. My fiance split with his daughters mother in 2008. From 2008-2014 we had 50% legal custody per a court agreement, but never needed a parenting time agreement due to getting along. In 2014 he...r mother was remarried, and she started making excuse after excuse to not send his daughter to us during planned time. We immediately applied for a parenting plan, and went through over a dozen court dates, with parenting time scheduled, but going back repeatedly because her mother would not enforce it and send her for this time. In addition to the 3 years of going in and out of court ourselves due to not having parenting time, and only having his daughter a handful of times during those 3 years, we also were not having a say in the legal custody either even though we had 50% so she was in contempt on multiple situations and we were no longer being able to effectively communicate with his daughters mother without high conflict, We hired Grace and explained our situation in full. We have full custody of his Autistic Son, so we knew there was no real reason for his daughters mother to be keeping her from us, with the exception of parental alienation. Grace read our entire history dating back to 2008, as well as guided us into getting her medical records, DCF Records and school records none of which we knew how to access before even though we were legally entitled. When we went to court, Grace handled all of the mediation between My fiance, and his daughters mother, and even brought an additional attorney Paul who had more experience with our specific judge. I thought this was so thoughtful and really a nice extra touch to show us that she truly cared about the outcome. We ended up having out 50% Legal Custody enforced, were awarded additional time on Sundays (originally we had 12-6, now we have 11-6), and we also were awarded Thanksgiving and Christmas! In addition, Grace requested that my fiances daughter be placed into counseling and for this to be revisited in 90 days with the judge due to the history of the mother not enforcing the time. Since our court date, we have had his daughter every sunday without one miss, and we also had a stress free, wonderful holiday season with both of his children by our sides. We were able to get my fiances information updated with the school, so he is now contacted regarding any issues, as well as with her doctors office. She has been going to her counseling weekly,, and really likes her counselor! She has become very self aware of how she effects others, and has opened up so much like how she was when she was younger. It is so nice to have her back and have her be her cheerful self! We have even had some additional time with her that was not scheduled, and have gotten to keep her past the court ordered time per her request on some occasions. I am hopeful that this relationship will continue, and that we will have more time added when we go back to revisit in the spring with the judge. However, currently we could not be happier with the help that Grace provided us, as we now have our hearts and family whole again. We are surely on the road to Happily Ever After!
