Matthew Ryan Butler

I am a Massachusetts attorney and the founder of MR Business Law, PLLC, a business law firm located in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. I provide legal services to small businesses, closely held companies, business owners, entrepreneurs, commercial landlords and tenants, and individuals, focusing on contracts, business transactions, commercial real estate, and related legal matters.

In my practice, I draft and review various business and commercial agreements, including employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements, franchise agreements, commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, asset purchase agreements, membership interest and ownership transfer agreements, financing instruments, promissory notes, security agreements, settlement agreements, and other commercial contracts. I also assist clients with business purchase and sale transactions, asset and ownership transfers, and related deal work. Additionally, I help clients with entity formation, prepare LLC operating agreements, shareholder and member agreements, corporate governance documents, and provide ongoing outside general counsel support, such as commercial lease review and negotiation.

Before starting MR Business Law, I worked at a Massachusetts law firm where I represented businesses and individuals in commercial transactions, real estate matters, corporate governance issues, and business-related disputes. My background includes litigation involving contracts, construction matters, mechanic’s liens, partnership and ownership disputes, insurance disagreements, and landlord-tenant issues. This experience allows me to approach agreements with a focus on clarity, risk management, and minimizing the potential for future disputes.

I earned my JD/MBA with a concentration in Business Law from Suffolk University. I am admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Massachusetts.
