Once you become a USC you can sponsor your mother. Until then she can apply again with more proof of her ties to her home country.

You can notify the officer at the time of interview of any errors or omissions and it should not be an issue.
I had my n-336 interview today. My N-400 was denied due to lack of evidences on an arrest which they requested after the INT.
