Review of services & advice

I had a contentious situation trying to get a major national insurance company to pay benefits on short & long term disability policies which I had paid premiums on for years. I received a referral to Ms Sullivan from a relative. Once brought up to speed on my situation she "took the bull by the ...horns" and within a few weeks I received the funds for several back months of benefits. The insurance company continued to stop benefits without prior notice a couple more times over a 3 year period, this despite fact SSDI accepted my first application for disability benefits early on. Atty Sullivan "nudged" them again and again to keep my benefits flowing. As I approached the time limit on the benefit period, the insurer again stopped paying me over a year before the scheduled expiration. Atty Sullivan carefully reviewed my options and we ended up filing suit in a federal court on alleged multiple counts of action. After about 4 months she negotiated a final settlement which pleased me very much. I found Atty Sullivan to be very easy to deal with. She spoke in language I understood, never "over promised" on potential results and "held my hand" when needed as events arose and responded promptly to email & phone messages. I also found her fee schedule to be very fair without some of the added fees and expenses added by law firms. So yes, I had to pay an attorney to get the benefits I was entitled to but it was a small price to pay in the end. Unfortunately there are still major insurance companies that feel they can take your money and ignore you when you file for the benefits. A very sad state of affairs. Lastly, there were many issues that cropped up during the 3+ years Atty Sullivan helped me. I found her breadth of knowledge on soo many issues to be incredible. This review may seem to be a bit over the top, but it reflects my actual personal experience. I am a retired financial executive so I spent thousands of hours over 40 years working with attorneys and she just stands out as one of the best. I whole heartedly endorse Atty Sullivan and believe you will not find any better, by almost any measurement criteria.

Metlife Claim Disability that was denied to employee

I work for a major corporation and was out for several months with a debilitating illness. During that time I struggled with Metlife Insurance . They held the purse strings for me getting paid under my short-term disability. However they did not pay me for any of the time that I was out. They simp...ly denied my claim. I had to use my savings to live on. As time went on I learned about Katherine and was advised that she was very good. I was told that Katherine knew the laws inside and out and to give her a try. I called her and set up an appointment. From the moment that we met she was very compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable. I knew I had made the right choice. Going forward with my appeal with Metlife Insurance Co Katherine guided me through the entire process. She explained what she was going to do and I worked with her closely. She always kept me informed and treated me with great respect. The outcome....we won our appeal ! I was more than delighted as this long, suffering struggle with a giant insurance company finally came to an end. I recommend Katherine to anyone who has a battle with an insurance company and getting paid for their time out while ill. Thank-you again Katherine. Your hard work paid off.

Attorney Sullivan is a professional attorney is all sense of the term! Authentic, honest and hard working. Upfront about her costs for her billing hours and is fair. She listened to my entire story and, over the course of my case, was able to get a fair and reasonable outcome in my favor that has ena...bled me to live with the grace and dignity of being able to pay for my health care insurance needs, rent, and bills and not live homeless. I am so grateful for her work as a disability attorney, and would highly recommend her as a skilled professional to help you with your situation. Give her a try. She's very understanding and empathetic. :) Good Luck.

Outstanding!

Kate is an awesome attorney. My disability case continued on for over 3 years. During that time, Kate always kept me informed during each step in the process. She was professionally aggressive with opposing counsel, filing motions and advocating on my behalf. Her briefs addressed all their claims; ne...ver failing to address each issue that they presented. When I was discouraged or concerned, she would take the time to address my concerns and answer my questions. In the end, the judge found in my favor and ultimately a settlement was reached. Although filing a claim offers no guarantee of winning, My situation dictated that I try. I firmly believe that it was Kate's knowledge and expertise that led to the outcome and settlement we received. I have the utmost respect for her and her firm, Rosenfeld, Rafik and Sullivan.
