Luke Rosseel is the Managing Attorney at Rosseel Law, where he focuses primarily on criminal and civil appeals.
Luke graduated first in his class from Suffolk University Law School, and he received his J.D. summa cum laude. While at Suffolk, Luke achieved several notable accomplishments, including the following:
- received the Daniel J. Fern Award for having achieved the highest cumulative GPA in his class;
- served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Suffolk Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy;
- won the Northeast Regional Championship in the 2012-13 American Association for Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition; and
- was awarded the 2012-13 Paul R. McLaughlin Memorial Fellowship.
As the McLaughlin Fellow, Luke interned at the Federal Public Defender Office in Boston, where he conducted legal and factual research and drafted motions and briefs for a number of important federal felony cases.
Aside from his experience with the Federal Defenders, Luke also worked for a number of years as a paralegal for James Rosseel, an experienced criminal appeals attorney who practices before the Supreme Judicial Court and the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
During his junior year at Boston University, where he graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science, Luke studied abroad, and interned at criminal defense law firms in Dublin (Terence Lyons & Co., now KOD Lyons), and in London (Bark & Co). After obtaining his undergraduate degree, Luke returned to London, where he worked on a major drug case at another criminal defense law firm (J.D. Spicer & Co., now JD Spicer Zeb), and volunteered to assist the lead barrister at a prisoners’ rights organization (Prisoners’ Advice Service).
Luke is passionate about helping people whose legal rights have been imperiled and trampled upon. Whether they've been wrongfully convicted of a crime, unlawfully fired from a job, or hurt by someone else's careless or malicious behavior, Luke feels compelled to help those who are at their most vunerable.
Luke is an avid musician who began playing the cello almost 20 years ago, and who today continues to play music in a number of different recording and performance settings. Luke’s combination of artistic creativity and intellectual excellence makes him a particularly innovative and effective legal advocate.
