Prior to founding Avvo in 2006, Mark was the Executive Vice President of Worldwide Corporate Affairs of InterActiveCorp Travel (IACT) and Expedia, Inc. He was also Expedia’s first General Counsel.

Mark received his law degree from George Washington University. He holds a degree in finance from Gonzaga University and serves on Gonzaga’s Board of Regents.

Who is your favorite fictional lawyer?

Like many lawyers, I admire Atticus Finch. Atticus represented honesty and integrity, but most of all being true to oneself. Atticus uttered one of my favorite quotes: “The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.”

Sendi Widjaja

Sendi oversees all data and advertising business operations at Avvo.

Prior to co-founding Avvo in 2006, Sendi spent 10 years with Expedia, Inc. and Microsoft Corporation in various development and managerial roles. Most recently, Sendi was the Senior Director of Development at Expedia.

Sendi holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Washington.

Who is your favorite fictional lawyer?

Alan Shore from Boston Legal. He’s a quirky but brilliant lawyer who is not afraid to bend or break the law to fight for the right cause.

Sachin Bhatia

Sachin oversees Avvo’s product management and user experience.

Prior to joining Avvo in 2006, Sachin worked in the internet business in various product, technical, and design roles. He started his career at Microsoft in the travel product group and arrived just in time to help with initial launch of Expedia.com.

Sachin holds dual degrees in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Washington.

Who is your favorite fictional lawyer?

Bob Loblaw from Arrested Development because he had a blog called “Bob Loblaw’s Law Blog.” I also love that he always traveled with a stenographer—more lawyers should do that.

Eric Dahlberg

Eric oversees the sales organization at Avvo.

Prior to joining Avvo, Eric spent a decade in Microsoft’s Advertising & Online division, most recently serving as General Manager, where he was responsible for sales and service of digital advertising across a broad swath of media and advertising technologies.

Eric has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University.

Who is your favorite fictional lawyer?

The Newsroom’s Will McAvoy, host of News Night on Atlantis Cable News. I love how this former prosecutor turned news anchor cross examines the guests on his show. He feels a deep loyalty to his viewers, constantly seeking to deliver truth and insight that transcends the usual news cycle.

Kevin oversees the development and IT teams at Avvo.

Prior to joining Avvo, Kevin was the VP of Engineering at Spotify, where he led a team of 175 engineers for the company’s mobile, desktop, and web platforms. Kevin speaks around the world on topics ranging from product development to how culture affects work productivity and morale.

Kevin earned degrees in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

Who is your favorite fictional lawyer?

Vincent Gambini, from My Cousin Vinny. I like how he initially struggled, but then overcame the challenges of being in a bit over his head through smarts and good teamwork. Also, hilarious.

Josh is responsible for the company’s legal affairs and business operations.

Prior to joining Avvo in 2007, Josh spent over a decade in the wireless industry, including roles as Vice President, Corporate Development at AT&T Wireless and General Counsel at Cellular One of San Francisco.

Josh earned a J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon.

Who is your favorite fictional lawyer?

Saul Goodman of Breaking Bad, of course. The man knows how to focus on results.

Kelly oversees talent management and human resources at Avvo.

Prior to joining the company, she launched conscious business and mindfulness initiatives at LinkedIn while wrapping up her role as VP Talent at Lynda.com. She also has held talent management roles at Expedia, Microsoft, and T-Mobile.

Kelly has a Ph.D. in Metaphysics and Transpersonal Psychology from the International University of Metaphysical Science.

Who is your favorite fictional lawyer?

Fred Gailey from Miracle on 34th Street. Not only was he charming, kind, genuinely interested in helping others, sincere, and lovable, he was also able to find his true purpose in helping those in need by defending Santa Claus.

Leigh oversees Avvo’s marketing, communications, and business development.

Prior to joining Avvo in 2011, Leigh was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Call Analytics at Marchex, a leading mobile advertising provider. She also led public affairs for the Seattle Mariners during their campaign for a new ballpark, which is now Safeco Field.

Leigh is a graduate of the University of Washington.

Who is your favorite fictional lawyer?

I most admire and identify with The Good Wife’s Alicia Florrick—she is tenacious, compassionate, and loves good wine. However, in reality I am probably more like Elsbeth Tascioni.

Prior to joining Avvo in 2014, Monica spent 7 years as Vice President, Finance & Operations/CFO at Allrecipes.com, where she helped the company grow into the world’s largest digital food brand.

Monica earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington, and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Who is your favorite fictional lawyer?

Perry Mason! He only lost one case in his entire career and had a stellar team around him. Plus, like Mason, I look much better in black and white.
