If i am on probation in one state and get arrested in another would the state that i am on probation in find out about my arrest
i live in ri and am on probation and got arrested and charged in mass will ri find out about my arrest in mass?
I agree with what the other lawyers are recommending. It is usually easy for probation officers to find out you've been arrested in another state. In Texas, probation officers regularly make checks of a person's computerized criminal history (CCH). An arrest event in another state will most likely show up if it was entered into the computerized system. Additionally, I agree your failure to report this arrest to your probation officer could be considered a violation of your probation conditions. But you must be careful what you reveal to your PO. Everything you tell them will be documented and used against you. Please consider consulting with a criminal defense lawyer about this before speaking with your probation officer.
This generally depends on what kind of criminal record check they run each time you meet with your probation officer. Most probations require that you disclose new criminal arrests each time you check in with your P.O. If you don't disclose the new offense, that, by itself, would be a violation of your probation, and you might even be charged with perjury.
