When is a lawsuit "terminated."

You may want to look at California Code of Civil Procedure §1049 as a starting point and contact an attorney immediately for assistance. Generally, an action is terminated by its final determination on appeal, the expiration of the appeal period without an appeal taken, or the satisfaction of the judgment before the expiration of that period.
