I did my separation agreement a couple of years before I hired Mr Watson, I had another lawyer that had little experience and the result was a terrible agreement for me and it was also not in line with VA law in terms of child support. At that time my main objective was to close the divorce chapter a...s soon as possible and move forward. Then I hired Mr Watson to improve the agreement and my financial burden . For more than a year I have been working with Mr Watson in order to obtain an improvement of my separation agreement. Many months later and a lot of thousand of dollars less my agreement is worse than it was from a financial perspective! the only improvements is that is now in line with VA code for the child support. While Mr Watson has years of experience in family law, in following my case I did not see any strategic approach and the desire to " settle" was the main driver rather than obtain the best for me. I followed his advise to settle immediately on partial change of the agreement mainly with the idea to make an additional change in a second stage; we could no longer make the additional change since it was accepted with the signature of the settlement. If you have a complicated situation and an aggressive counter part , I do not reccomand to work with him.
