My father died recently. Holker had prepared a trust for both my parents in 2006. Last month my mother and I went to his office to figure out what we had to do with this trust. Holker politely explained that he no longer was practicing law and that his son ( an attorney) had taken over his lega...l practice and that the older Holker only did financial planning. He brought his son into his office and the two of them spent more than two hours answering all of our questions no matter how trivial. Their knowledge and experience was obvious from the start. The father has the ability to take difficult and abstract subjects and explain how everything fits together so both my mother and I understood them very well. His knowledge of the financial and tax side of the death process was fantastic. My parents had always spoken very highly of Holker. When we got into my car to begin our two hour drive back home we began to discuss the meeting and Holker, my mother turned to me and said: "See, I told you so !!" They helped me feel a whole lot better about what happens after the death of a parent if they chose you as the person to clean up and distribute the remaining assets.
