Alison Marie Hicks

I have been battling for the last 12 years. I have been through six family attorneys in San Antonio All with more experience and higher price than her. I have never seen anyone show up and never miss a beat or more prepared or taking more seriously by both her opposing Atty and the judges you can tel...l when she comes in the courtroom that everybody knows she means business yes because she spends most of her time in the courtroom, she’s not always available to personally take your call, but it is clear and makes it clear in her contract that all the client needs to do is request specifically to set a time to talk to her directly and she was able to do that for me within 24 hours of my request every single time. I didn’t find out until after my case was concluded that she was actually the president of her law school class, which many of the judges were under her. I wish I had met her years ago. In fact, I ended up hiring her to represent my architecture firm that I own here in San Antonio after conclusion of my family Law matter. She definitely doesn’t mince words with 100% of the time give it to you straight even if it’s not what you wanna hear but she’s the only Attorney I’ve ever had that person in me with the truth 100% of the time she had outlined methods of success and procedures identified from beginning of the case that if I followed, would ensure our success, I don’t know if these other review are being honest because it sounds like to me they wanted some free representation or it might be my ex posting as anyone can because she’s mad and took it personal. Ms. is not there to make friends, but she is the most tenacious hard-working attorney I’ve ever dealt with I recommend her to all friends and business acquaintances. She represented one of my friends businesses and has saved them hundreds of thousands of dollars problem is she doesn’t play the game she doesn’t care if she’s liked because as she puts it, she’s not there to make friends. She’s there for justice my favorite phrase of hers is we want to be Gucci not Walmart and make sure everyone knows if we go to court it’s gonna be best and easiest for them to give us what we want the first time because we won’t stop coming back or being a problem until we achieve our objective.

Initially she was great. Then she made decisions I didn't agree to. I was military and got deployed. Instead of pausing. Then she asked to be removed from the case. The judge denied. Then she asked for money that she knew I couldn't pay in between my pay cycles or threatened to not represent me. She... became argumentative and dismissive when i told her my concerns. I fired her and got another attorney to finish my custody case.

After meeting with Alison, I was positive I had found a great lawyer. Over 2 years later, I deeply regret hiring her. Her assistant is the only person you will ever talk to, they only call you back if they are expecting payment, and they charge you when they make mistakes. Absolutely ridiculous and ...the worst experience I've ever had with attorneys.

We did not have a good experience with Ms. Hicks. She charged us for filing motions that we later found were legally not able to use. It was a waist of our money.. She stalls your court hearing and reschedules them so that she can keep racking up your bill. She and her Paralegal both are not truthful.... She breached her own contract . Our case had been going on for 3 years and it was a simple clarification of divorce decree. We finally got tired of her taking our money and decided to hire another lawyer. She refused to cooperate with them. She filed a request to withdraw and when we did not show up she rescheduled it. We were advised that normally if client doesn't show the Judge will still grant it. She decided to reschedule...Whether we get charged or not we don't know. She then told the Judge that we couldn't afford to pay her and that's why she dropped us. Truth is we dropped her AND we had already began the process with our new lawyer. Please don't spend thousands of dollars like we did. Find you a lawyer that will help resolve your case timely and not charge you for motions that we filed and billed for nothing.
