Who is liable in Mo. when your rearended while waiting in traffic for the car in front of your car and your struck from behind?

Asked by a user in Warrensburg, MO - 4 months ago.

Usually the vehicle that rear-ends the forward vehicle is at fault. In your case that driver claims she was rear-ended and then forced into you. If that is the situation, the vehicle that rear-ended the driver behind you caused the "chain reaction" and is the one responsible. Most likely, the insurance companies for both vehicles behind you will point the finger at one another and dispute who is at fault. If this happens, I suggest you seek a local attorney to help you.
