Damon Shadid is without a doubt the best lawyer I have ever encountered. My husband and I hired him for my adjustment of status application and though it was a bit more complex than expected, Damon went above and beyond to make it happen. He is honest, hard working, professional, real, responsive, and on top of it all the time.
After getting married, my husband and I went in to apply for my permanent residency only to discover that I had a two year home requirement to fulfill before adjusting my status. I came to the U.S on an exchange student visa (J-1) that required me to go home for two years and then come back to the U.S. I, however, was offered a scholarship to finish my education and was granted an F-1 visa. Though, I came back to the U.S legally, I never fulfilled the 2 year requirement. This became a problem when we learned that those who haven't fulfilled the requirement are not eligible to adjust their status unless they were granted a waiver.
Damon, of course, was determined to get the waiver and do what it takes to adjust my status. Getting the waiver was not an easy process, but with his help, we were able to obtain a No Objection based waiver in three months. Shortly after, we began the adjustment of status application.
Damon was always on time and made sure to walk us through each and every detail of the process. He was present at every encounter we had with USCIS and prepared us for what to expect.
I received my green card at the end of October,2012. This could not have happened without Damon's determination, intelligence, organization, care, and knowledge. We will always be thankful to everything he's done for us. Thank you, Damon!
