Confidential Divorce Mediation

Gillian Anne Brady

Practice Area: Family

Outcome: Full Settlement

Description: In over 6 years of mediation I have successfully mediated hundreds of cases. In that time, only two clients have not fully settled all issues in mediation. I have had clients successfully mediate the dissolution of a 35 year marriage with multiple children in less than 9 hours of mediation. As a former litigator, I have seen the harmful effects of court battles that leave both Parties feeling cheated and unheard. I believe mediation is a much better way to resolve family law matters, and my practice is 100% mediation. I believe the vast majority of couples are able to work through their divorce issues in mediation if they use a well trained and qualified Attorney Mediator. My clients not only save money and reach lasting agreements, they avoid the stress and frustration of ongoing court battles. Mediation is also a process that serves the best interests of the children. In my private, confidential mediation process, both parents work together to resolve any issues related to their children. Because mediation considers the “big picture” and looks to the future, families who mediate find that they are better equipped to work together amicably should issues involving their children arise in the future. Avoiding continuing legal battles not only saves parents money, it reduces the emotional strain children experience when their parents must resort to an adversarial litigation process to resolve each dispute that arises. My Settlement Agreements are legally enforceable, just as a litigated settlement would be, but for a fraction of the cost of litigation. My Settlement Agreements are also very thorough and comprehensive, and contain agreements that have been reached by the Parties themselves, to suit their own needs. This is another great strength of mediation, because clients are in control, they are much more likely to keep the agreements they reach.
