Lost decision in labor arbitration

Asked by a user in Riverside, CA - over 4 years ago.

Its hard to say because you do not indicate what the arbitration covered. Generally, though, if you bring a claim to arbitration and lose, you may not pursue the claim in another court. However, without knowing all the facts, I cannot provide a more thorough answer. My best advice would be to consult your attorney or an attorney and be prepared to give him/her all the documents from your arbitration.

Got into accident, insurance lapsed. How can i cover other vehicle expense and injury claim?

Asked by a user in Sunnyvale, CA - almost 3 years ago.

You should consult with an attorney in your area right away. You may have claims of your own. Typically, if you do not have insurance, a party would have to sue you directly. If you have assets, they are vulnerable. Underinsured/Uninsured motorist policies will only cover a portion of the damages, depending on the limits of coverage the other party has. Still, an insurance company could also come after you for the portion they pay to their insured. Seek out a good personal injury...

Immigants bing deported

Asked by a user in Sunnyside, WA - over 4 years ago.

Well, this is a loaded question if I ever heard one. By the very nature of the term, it is wrong for anyone to be an illegal immigrant. There is nothing wrong with legal immigration. But when one does something illegal, they are committing a crime by breaking a law. This is not to say that there are not overriding moral or ethical considerations which cause people to break laws to, say, support their family or flee from injustice.

Is there anyone who could help me file bankruptcy without charging me?

Asked by a user in Cleveland, OH - almost 3 years ago.

I am not sure about your jurisdiction because I am a California lawyer. However, there are sometimes low-cost or free services for people such as yourself. Start by looking on the web, contacting your state bar association, and even looking at the website for your local court house. You may also ask your creditors - sometimes they will give a referral. Times are tough and a lot of us are going through the same times, even lawyers. A lawyer who is not affiliated with a non-profit may...

Playing music to the public

Asked by a user in Sarasota, FL - almost 4 years ago.

I think we need some more information in order to answer your question. In what way are you planning to play music? Is it for a profitable venture (i.e., a concert or other event), or just from your car stereo? Legal is a loaded word, too. Something can be perfectly legal to do, but could still get you sued for not purchasing the rights to do something or paying the people who own the music to play it. You won't get arrested, but you might still have a legal consequence. I'm sorry if...
