Seeta Lakshmi Nangia

Seeta Nangia has extensive experience in a wide variety of immigration matters including, family and employment-based visas, consular processing, naturalization, waivers for inadmissibility, asylum, deportation defense, and appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals.  Ms. Nangia has represented clients before the San Francisco Immigration Court, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and U.S. Consulates abroad.  She has worked for immigration law firms in Chicago, Atlanta and San Francisco.  

Ms. Nangia is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)’s Northern California and Santa Clara Valley Chapters.  She is admitted to both the California and Illinois state bars and is licensed to provide immigration legal services anywhere in the United States.

Ms. Nangia dedicates much of her time to providing pro bono legal services to the immigrant community.  She has assisted victims of domestic violence and violent crimes obtain lawful status in the United States.  She is also a volunteer attorney for the AIDS Legal Referral Panel.  

Ms. Nangia earned her law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law with a certificate in International and Comparative Law. While in law school, Ms. Nangia worked at the Chicago-Kent Immigration Law Clinic, was a member of the Immigration Law Society, staff member of the International Law Journal, and President of the South Asian Law Students Association.   

Ms. Nangia comes from a South Asian immigrant family and has lived in India. She is conversational in Hindi, Telugu and French.
