Great Trial Attorney

I was accused of civil fraud and breach of contract. The plaintiff was asking a jury to award a $200,000 judgment against me. The trial took two weeks. Mr. Cayce's ability and performance in defending me was exceptional and outstanding. The jury awarded the plaintiff nothing. Mr. Cayce now repre...sents me in all of my business matters.

A fine commen sense lawyer

Mr. Cayce handled a business litigation matter for me that resulted in a very favorable outcome. I would highly recommend Mr. Cayce.

Great Trial Lawyer

Chris is a real nice guy who took a personal interest in my case when no one else would take it. He handled the case with professionalism. He took the case through a jury trial and won a fair judgement for me. If I ever need a lawyer again I would definetly go back to Chris.

Blowhard

In the intial interview Cayce talked a good story and promised aggressive support, once he got our retainer and billed us for meeting with him twice (the first, he mostly bloviated and talked about himself; the second was to get status since he never returned our calls), he eventually folded and told... us it wouldn't be worth pursuing action. Why didn't he say that at the beginning before charging us almost $2000 and forcing us to wait over six months - making it hard to engage another attorney. We had provided written notes and laid out our claim as best we could at the first meeting, no material facts had changed in the time that he strung us along. Some specific complaints: repeatedly did not return calls, did not provide status, gave vague billing information, and never wrote the letters he said he would write to the property manager and her lawyer. My sense was that he was intimidated by the other attorney and did not want to make waves. Monterey is a small community and the only reason we went with Cayce was that the good attorneys or their firms had conflicts (of interest) with the property manager or her attorney. Cayce was one of the remaining referrals. Our recommendation in the future if litigating in Monterey is to get a out of town attorney. In any case, Chris Cayce was a terrible representative and really left a bad impression of lawyers with us. We finally got a good one from Oakland who restored the faith.
