    George’s Answer

An EXPIRED license is not that big of a deal (a suspended one is though!). Your only real problem will be with the DUI

  • Never finished DUI classes from 2008

My fiance got his 3rd DUI in 2008, before I met him. He went to jail for a little bit, paid all the fines and started the DUI classes but never finished them. We have checked and he does not have a warrant out in his name. Now that we are getti...

    George’s Answer

The other way to find out would be to go to DMV and buy a copy of your driving record take that document to an alcohol class (maybe the one that he failed to complete) and see if the alcohol program will enroll you based on the DMV requirements. It can't hurt to start there....
That would not automatically clear up any warrant however if there is a warrant outstanding, but being enrolled in the class would help if you had to return to court.
No matter how he becomes enrolled he will not be licensed until the alcohol program is Completed!

  • Does winning a dui jury trial reverse the California dmv license suspension no matter how many jurors vote innocent or guilty?

I was arrested for a dui back in march 2015, i was not the one who was driving i was just at the scene when the officer showed up. I refused to give up my friends name (he was going to get chains and a truck to pull the car out of the ditch.) So t...

    George’s Answer

To answer your question, No, a hung jury will not help you with DMV, you must be found not guilty of driving at a .08%. There are other issues and possibilities but that is the answer to your question.

  • I was sentenced to a DUI, 1st Offender (M), with a BAC over .20. I was sentenced to 18 month DUI class vs 9 month for 1st time..

Full disclosure: I did have a Dui over 15 years ago, being it was over 10 years and out of state, it's a 1st time CA dui. I did retain a lawyer whom kept me out of jail time, no interlock, and a 4th month suspension(restricted eligible. He believe...

    George’s Answer

An 18 month class is a second offender class; there is no requirement to complete the dui class before the suspension can end under your circumstances.

  • I just received an arraignment for court for DUI that happened around 9 months ago, it's in 3 weeks and I have no lawyer.

I am currently working and have letters of good standing , it's my first time offense of anything , I am extremely unprepared as it is in 3 weeks but I literally got the letter right now and am in shock and seeking some sort of guidance on how to ...

    George’s Answer

Relax, that date is your first court date, it is only the beginning of the case. These cases are complicated, more than just guilt or innocence. You have plenty of time to find counsel. Anything more information than that would go on for pages!

  • Can my record get expunged?

I am 30 years old, I had a DUI in Florida in 2004 amd one in Wisconsin in 2009. I now live in CA and I have completed all classes, paid all the fines and had a breathlyzer in my car for a year. I do not drink anymore, but my record in Wisconsin s...

    George’s Answer

But for reference purposes if these were California DUIs they would always show up on your DMV record no matter what sort of an expungement process you went through. The most you could do here would be to show the employer the court documents concerning the charges that were dismissed. That will still be confusing to the employer when the convictions still remain as convictions on your driving record! You might still want to get the cases expunged but you can see how it's not of much value for employment purposes unless your home state treats the cases differently than California. So this is some information for you to discuss with your attorney in Wisconsin(?)... or wherever.

  • How likely is it that I would be granted permission, to move out of California, on Probation (Interstate Compact Act)?

I was convicted of a 2nd DUI in CA after hitting another vehicle. I was given 4 years of Summary (Unsupervised) Probation. One of the requirements is I must obtain permission from the Probation Department per the Interstate Compact Act to leave/mo...

    George’s Answer

This doesn't make sense that you're not on formal probation but you must contact the probation department who probably doesn't have any idea who you are. I'm not saying that you're not correct but I am wondering where you got that idea. Normally in your case your only contact with the probation department would concern whether or not you paid back for the damages you caused. I suppose the Judge could have ordered that as a way to make sure the damages have been paid before you leave the State. If that's correct and everything's been paid you'll have no problem being approved.
